With the big upcoming pullout of US troops from Afghanistan and the 
likelihood of the conflict turning out to be another failed mission, another 
Vietnam,  I recalled some plaques in Rochester Cathedral in Kent, England 
commemorating lives lost in the same country between 1838 and 1881.

Seems that the politicians and generals haven't learnt much from history !
