Indeed it is - he 45mm Planar was the standard lens for the Contax G and was
extremely good. One of the best standard lenses I ever used. The focussing is
done from the body through a little gearbox on the side. It's a bit slow/noisy
on my old Contax G1and very difficult to fit an adapter. I have a Metabones
adaptor ($130) which turns the little transmission shaft with a large focussing
ring that shrouds the base of the lens. It's a great idea but tends to be a bit
sticky. Difficult to fit too. The high end adapters are very expensive.
The adapter seller (GBI Camera, KK) was excellent. He took it back for a while
when I could not work out how to fit it and sent me a personal video showing me
how. He's now promised another little video to show me how to overcome the
slight binding I'm getting.
I have the 90mm as well and that got bad press as it was hard to focus on the
G1. Apparently it is a very good 180/2.8 on mFT.
This was part of a kit I sold for a friend. If anyone is interested in the
Zeiss G 35-70mm zoom, I can get it for a bargain price.
