Hi Rick,
I have encountered the same problems. I never thought of the corn pad
solution. I have been using black, adhesive-backed felt, which I buy in the
craft area at Wal-Mart. I use a paper punch to make a hole, then trim the
outer diameter to fit. Peel off the backing and apply. It works for me.
