But when I'm distraught over that decision again, I think I'll just go
for one of the "Big Whites".

Ya sure? At the risk of being sacrilegious one might consider the
Cosina Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 180mm f/4 SL in OM mount. It is the
most zuikoish non Zuiko I have seen. I need to post a few images. It
is a super travel tele and can be used for long FL macro--I often put a
bit of extension on it.
Tack sharp wide open. Well one FM-er commented that the extreme
corners were very slightly better on the Canyon 80-200/2.8 at F4.
This whole lens is smaller than the hood for that beasty and can fit in
a pocket--49mm filters too. Downside is that it is not a Zuiko and
focuses the "wrong" way.
Did I say it was small? Jeff K has one too in OM mount but hasn't
commented on it AFAIK.
CV180 f4 485 gm 66mm X 59mm 49mm filter!! MFD 1.2m Max mag 1:4 bokeh
very nice
Zuiko 200 f5 MC 380gm 105mm X 62mm 49mm filter MFD 2.5m Max mag about
1:10
very tough to find too. Bokeh--I don't know but if like the 200/4
likely so- so FF, even if good on FT
Just a thought--doesn't cost much.
