These images were made almost exactly 7 years ago (irises earlier this year),
OMPC, Supra 100 and I used the scans that
came with developing. I'm pretty sure I've used the sima a couple of times
since, but have no idea where or when that
may have been. These were taken at a time when I was actually disciplined about
taking notes and putting them in a
spreadsheet. Any others date to different periods. :-)
The images in that little gallery were meant to show me what the sima would do,
by using all three available apertures,
wide open and the two waterhouse stops, and comparing it to a high performance
conventional lens.
I don't know what the lens in it is for sure, but it appears to be single
element plastic. Wide open is a bit much. It
has lovely bokeh, but the DOF at smaller apertures probably won't please
shallow DOF folks. I've been thinking about
mounting a simple, cemented doublet achromat in a similar sliding tube
arrangement, to see what something in between the
sima and a 'real' lens would do.
Some other comments and samples here.

Been sort of meaning to try it out with the 5D, and compare it to the pinhole
cap I have.
