I got started in photography in 1985 with a Minolta X-700. I opted for the
50mm f3.5 macro lens instead of the standard lens and the PX360 flash. It
was a great setup. I soon doubled the cameras for twin stereo. I used
Minolta manual camera equipment until about 2000.
Minolta made a nice array of macro equipment, in some respects better than
Olympus. This included a sophisticated bellows system and bellows lenses.
Regarding the "ultimate fang" this outfit is worth less than $50 today. I
have mint X-700 bodies (look like they were never used) and lenses in ebay
right now. I don't think the mint body will sell for more than $20. We will
see.
