When I shot with the E-1, I recall getting good DOF without trying very hard.
Switching to Nykon full frame, however, reminded me that there is such a thing
as Depth of Field Boogiemen. Rather than using ridiculously small apertures,
I's tying to be more creative with DOF. With your finches, for example, I
suspect I would have tried for sharp on the back 'un rather than the front 'un.
I know one is supposed to make sure foreground is sharp, fading to background,
but some rules are meant to be broken.
