Don't know about very high temperature area, most of my camera equipment are
inside humidity controlled cabinet. The temperature inside is 22-32 dec C
the whole year and humidity is around 40-50. I don't see any problem on the
lenses after 20 years of use. I also agree with Chuck, 10 watt heater won't
cause significant temp. rise.
On the other hand putting the camera inside fridge does not work here, the
humidity here is very high, condensation will sure happen unless it is well
sealed and warm up to ambient before put into use. BTW, the cost of keeping
a fridge for camera is much higher than an electronic dry box and I never
trust silice gel, it is just too difficult to maintain.
