Extremely tenacious. The glue used in cemented elements was Balsam, organic and suitable food for fungus. I don't think the problem has been as bad since they substituted synthetic cements. But the stuff can grow on a clean surface in the right conditions! Isn't the largest organism on earth a subterranean fungal mass somewhere?
