Me thinks that the solution is to tell the offspring that we will be
using his broadband connection as it makes no sense for him to hog it
all himself. THAT was what I was getting at about the Wifi crack.  I
could setup YOUR broadband connection in the house so that it wipes
out his.

Why not increase his "rent" to cover your broadband costs?
