Somewhere out there is a book or books on what is commonly called "digiscoping"
or some such, which is all about using digital cameras with spotting scopes. My
sister did a lot of bird photography this way. She bought a particular model of
Nikon Coolpix because the lens fit the scope eyepiece perfectly. Got some find
snaps that way.
