No, that's nonsense. The weather is predictable - extremely so by British
standards. We'll have a hot day and then a cool change with winds and rain will
sweep through exactly on time. Temperatures may plummet from the high thirties
to the high twenties in minutes. (think 100 to 80 if you're a recalcitrant
murkin).
People seem surprised because -
a) They don't check weather forecasts.
b) They don't understand local weather patterns.
c) They're complete idiots.
