Today processed a long neglected CR2 file from a macro shot with the
OM5DII and viv S1 90-180 macro. The lens does have a modest
warming color cast due to the coatings. The JPEG was near correct in
depicting a orangish blurred background while the ACR conversion with
as shot daylight white balance made it way way too yellow. Just
adjusting the temp did not do it and had to change the geen-magenta
axis to even get close.
That was too much work--need to remember to shoot some reference with
that lens.
Perhaps the camera provides some special sauce in the tone conversion
curve that is unknown to ACR. I was just surprised how far off it was.
Should I have been surprised?
