Ain't America wunnerful?
Not that it applies to anyone in particular here, but I find it delightful that
those who think some company is gouging them will often cheer on some other
company who is gouging them.
Personally, I go with the underdog. I won't own an i-thingy, because Apple is
the dominant player, and none of the alternatives seem to be worth a bucket of
dingos' kidneys.
But their computers are an entirely different thing. They still have to fight
for market share in that realm, rather than fight to defend a dominant
position. The infrastructure is all open-source -- really appealing to an old
Unix hacker. And I get about twice the lifetime out of them as the average
Windows user, which makes them cheaper, in the long run.
