No, it is technically correct - a consistency in Saxon verbs but it grates on
English-speaking ears because no-one outside Castle Murica has used it in four
hundred years or so. And in any case, usually it is redundant - just leaving it
out makes no difference.
I can't believe that well-educated Americans are still using it - Zounds!
