Well, I just checked mine on the e-p1. I think overall it's a pretty nice fit.
Proportions look and handle better than the kit zoom, but you might consider 2
issues if you're really sensitive to those things :
- The lens cap is awful, even on the panny body. Looks like a bilboard, with
an enormous 'lumix' crossing it. So may wish to replace it by a flat black one
(46 mm ø).
- The black/bronze scheme of the lens will certainly neatly match the overall
black aspect of the e-p(L)2, but the '20' label is off centered on the lens
barrel at the right of the red mount mark, too big and - sigh - YELLOW !
OMGWhatweretheythinking !??! But you only see it from a top look, not from the
front, so it's no really big deal. And you can always tape it over if you
really wish so.
Otherwise, handling balance is perfect, and of course, as everybody can tell
and has already reported, image quality is... supernatural ? ... magical ? ...
(my english is missing expletives to convey what I really think). The only
meaningful comparison I have at hand is, the pictures are as good as the ones
I made with my Canonet New QL17, if not better. So sharp you can still cut
your eyballs on them at 100% viewing, with incredible contrast and colours.
It's head and shoulders above anything else you can attach to µ4:3 bodies, to
the point where you can spot at first glance images made with the panny 20 in
collections of pictures once you have a bit of training.
This lens is the center of my µ4:3 system. I could change everything around
it, swap bodies or whatever, but the 20 is truly unique. I think if the look
was a complete mismatch with Olympus bodies, I would petition Olympus to death
for remedy instead of Panasonic. Yes, it's *that* good.
Cheers,
