Well it really *is* my turn to have a red face.
When I looked at Chris's page (mainly about Cambridge gardens), I thought
that what transpired to be a page of thumbnail images was the page of final
web pages. I think that what Moose wrote made me look again to see how
he might have got an image of larger size to modify. And I found the full size
images. I downloaded only two of them due to their size, But:
- I think the 'ford' image is just fine.
- Has the flower shot ben changed since first uploaded? It seems a LOT
brighter now.
- I think that when I made my first comments, in addition to my CRT monitor
having had its light level altered, my perception of the 'lightness' of the
thumbnail images was negatively influenced by the black background of the
page; it may have made them seem darker than actually they were.
- on the positive side, I think I have identified the red flower as that of
Calliandra inaequilatera, ,"fairy duster" "Tassel flower", a winter-flowering
shrub from Bolivia, reaches 10 feet in height. Legume.
The Gardens are pretty good at labelling their plants, possibly there could be
a label close by.
