An E-1 in decent condition goes fro around $350 on ebay. With the HLD-2 grip
set, around $450. The original type 1 14-54mm should get $350, The 50mm Macro
is current and well-regarded - you can get a new one online for a bit over
$600 so $400 for a good used one with hood and caps is fair. Add $50 for
anything that is really fresh and in the original box.
I missed my E-1 so I bought another recently, to keep as my last regular 4/3rds
body. Got it from Paul van Tuyl in Ingram, Texas for $300. Ebay item
#120664793364 He's been around for a while and has a good feedback record.
I was annoyed when it arrived. 'Manufacturer refurbished' - as if. The cover
was glued down inexpertly. 94K actuations too but that's OK - I'm not going to
work it much. The first irritation was that he had listed it with $32 postage
international but then required (stated, not asked) another $10 for postage. I
didn't mind that too much and the stamp on it agreed with the higher cost but
when I sell and get things like that wrong, I wear it.
But what annoyed me most was that it arrived with no discs or cables, no
battery charger and no battery in it. Very bare. If I was selling a camera like
that, I say that these things were missing. Am I being unreasonable? I would
argue that 'custom and usage' implies that these things are part of a digital
camera unless specifically excluded. I know that things have got tricky with
air freighting Li-ion batteries but I'll be getting a couple in from China and
I don't think they'll be coming by sea mail! I haven't heard back from him on
my detailed grumble so I'm giving him a little time, assuming he's on holiday
(he has nothing listed at present). But I am considering leaving at least
neutral feedback.
