No, Jim, we're not allowed to fly solo from the other seat, although it's
perfectly feasible. I can reach the Parking Brake from the left-hand side and
the circuit-breakers are much easier to reach from the left.
I should add, that I was flying with my knees, which is why the ball was out;
it's trimmed for 100kts (cruise) rather than 80kts (climb). Not that I'm
defensive about it or anything, or that I woke at 0500 worrying about it . . .
