I have a Kata DR466, bought from B&H. It has a padded space big enough for a
netbook or small notebook computer, a padded bottom compartment which fits
my E-1, Lens attached, nicely, as well as a couple of lenses, and some
un-padded uppper areas that fit things like memory cards, chargers and the
like. It's not large, although adequate to my purposes. Kata make other,
larger ones, also. Came with a rain bonnet that can be easily attached. I
took it with me on a trip to the UK last fall, and it served very well.
The PC compartment can hold more than just the PC if the PC is a 10" netbook
and inserted long-way-across. Mine usually contains my book reader as well.
It's extremely well constructed, and has a number of features that were well
thought-trough. There's a grab handle, top center, for picking it up,
shoulder straps are well-padded, there's a chest strap, and also long pulls
on all zipper-tabs, to make getting zippers open easy with gloved hands.
Finally, the bottom camera gear compartment opens in such a way that it's
nearly impossible to spill the contents when picking up the bag, which is a
feature the majority of backpacks do not have.
I own two or three Tamrac bags, so this was quite a departure for me. I've
been entirely satisfied with it. It travelled to the UK and back as a
carry-on with no problem, and makes monthly trips by car with me to Mexico.
Still looks brand new. At the time I bought mine, Kata were offering an
"upgrade" to a lifetime warranty in exchange for one's email address. I've
had next-to-no email from them, so that proved worthwhile as well--I'd go
for it if that offer is still open
