We'll be visiting with out daughter and family in North Carolina for
Christmas but they have to leave to visit the other grandparents in
South Carolina mid-day on Christmas. So that means we'll actually be
traveling on Christmas day which is about as "off season" as you can
get. We booked a room near Savannah on Christmas day for $50. It's the
same place we stayed once before where the price (with a discount
coupon) was about $90. The only problem is that, so far, after calling
a number of restaurants in the area, I can't find any place serving
dinner on Christmas day. The hotel staff's sole suggestion didn't pan
out either. Maybe we'll have to pack a bag lunch before we leave NC.
