Nothing new here. Just more stirring by Daily Mail (UK version of Fox news?) But yes it's true - the content is scanned to tailor the advertising. You can run gmail encrypted, but only via IMAP, not the web interface. Jez who has no problem with it.... (Remember Google also store everything you ever searched for too.)
