Converting the pic to B&W is kosher according to my self-imposed code of
conduct (because back in the days of the traditional darkroom I could print a
slide or colour negative on B&W paper if I so desired); converting parts of the
picture to B&W but leaving other parts in colour violates that code of conduct.
I am not advocating that others adopt the same code of conduct, but it works
for me.
