When I needed a new car 3 years ago, I also very seriously considered a Prius
and test drove one, also lightly used (1 year old). I hesitated a bit for two
reasons: the slow acceleration AG mentions, and the fact that we tend to take
long drives, and I was wondering about the reliability of the whole battery
setup and the ability to get it fixed in the middle of nowhere. While I was
thinking about it for a few days, the car I had test driven was sold to someone
else, so that made my decision--I got a diesel Toyota Avensis instead, and I am
very pleased with it.
Cheers,
Nathan
