I see some pretty complex ones on the web. The one I have is extremely simple
and quite effective.

All it requires is
1. A bit of 1/8" thick cowhide.
2. A craft knife; and a hole cutter or punch would be nice.
3. About 10' of 1" nylon web strap, 48" for each top to bottom loop and 18" for
the top/bottom connector.
4. 3 plastic length adjusters
5. 2 sliding swivel hooks. If I were making one, I might find slightly nicer
ones, although these have a locking tab
that interlocks with the hook to add strength for heavy loads. Very secure.
6. Some quality time with a sewing machine.
