Yesterday I got sufficiently irritated with line-interference and resultant
very
slow connective speed (and the machine telling me that the line was busy
when I knew it was not ( phone-busy, that is)), that I called the local Telecom
faults people.
Turned out that I needed in-line filters to filter-out the high-speed data
created through the ASDL broad-band connection of my partner's son who,
it turns out, is using the same line. It was seriously corrupting the low-speed
data of my machine and causing an annoying buzz on the voice-phone.
$81 later ( call-out fee) and $18 for the filter, and I have trouble-free
connectivity, even if slow by the standards of most people.
The company that provided his ASDL broadband should have also provided
the filters. I had NO idea they were needed - (until now, that is).
Brian Swale.
