OK, firstly, the picture was taken on Saturday. We arrived at the bodega around
11, saw the harvest taking place in the fields, toured the facilities, and then
had the tasting beginning around 1:30, followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant
at 3 or so. A hard day.
The strike yesterday was a yawner. Even though my drive to work takes me
through the center of Alicante, I did not see a single picket line. Traffic was
light, like on a Sunday. At our office, there was no talk of strike (we are
after all EU employees), and all the security guards, cafeteria staff etc. (all
local Spanish employees of the companies to which we outsource these services)
were at work as usual.
Cheers,
Nathan
