Before I got the E-PL1, 5D II +OM24/2 is the single lens kit I carry
everyday, it is for documentation of our life. I found 24mm fit my vision
very well and wider angle is required to shoot inside the restaurant. The
E-PL1 kit zoom's 14mm (28mm) is just not enough in most cases and I'm
waiting for a fixed 12mm (24mm). This kind of shoot cannot be done by
stitching.
I have zero wish for a F1.4, F2 fit very well for both size and price.
Actually, with the 5D II and 24/2 I mostly shot at F2.8-3.5. Not the 24/2 is
not sharp enough wide open but I like a little more DOF for people
shots.

Well, it's wider than the 40-45mm lenses we used to find on fixed lens
rangefinders. And these days with digital, if you want a wider view,
you can often easily build a panorama. I'm more disappointed that it's
not a 1.4. It would seem that's not hard to do on a small lens and
would help to narrow DoF.
