Olympus will never have a full frame sensor and Leica will never have 4x5.
The four thirds was planned for the main market: 8x10 and usually smaller
prints ... or a digital display.
If the E5 were the size and weight of an E410 would it be desirable? It sure
would be for me. It won't replace medium or large format film but it isn't
intended to. It seems Olympus did a pretty good job predicting just how
large the sensor needs to be. If they keep tuning and shrinking they may not
sell many $6,000 f2.8 300mm lenses but they should have some very nice
cameras that appeal to many people.
Consider putting a 35mm D.Zuiko on an E410. Small, light, and superb. The
E-System could become a digital OM yet.
Jeff Keller
Is the D.Zuiko 150mm f2 (4"x6" 3.4 lbs) small compared to a Canon 300mm f2.8
(5"x10" 6lbs)... YES! The weakness is that the Olympus fast zooms are big
and heavy. Rather than trying to match Canon's big guns straight on, they
should refine and shrink. They should turn their top of the line lenses into
small superb quality gear.

There remains one seriously killer feature of FourThirds. The one primary
reason to get/stay in the system: The lenses. When you consider
price/performance they are unmatched by any other system.
Where else can you pick up two pro bodies and a pair of lenses and get the
coverage that you can with Olympus?
