Hmm, as I second guess myself, I ask, "Wonder if I'd been better off
jumping ship when I had a pocket full of insurance money from the e-3
equipment
I had stolen?" or "Wouldn't it have been easier to make the switch before
the pay cut of retirement?" or "Was the 150mm f2 such a good idea?"
On one hand I'd probably give a "yes" to the first two and a "no" to the
third.
On the other hand I might say, "Heck, that would have just gotten me into a
faster changing, much more expensive game on camera oneupmanship that
really wouldn't have made much difference in my images."
Satisfaction is a choice. We choose each day to either be satisfied or
not. We do it in every area of our life. Today, I choose to be happy with
my digital camera system. Seems like the more areas I choose to be
happy/satisfied with in life, the easier are my life and relationships.
One choice it is important to make in life has to do with making the choice
about what is "enough." It is a choice that has me have a very
satisfying career and lifestyle. It is as a choice that will have me be able
to
retire in a few weeks.
In the arena of cameras, when I tell the truth (which I choose to do),
having the most up to the moment camera by another manufacturer would make no
difference in my images. Truth is I can have an old box camera, a folder,
one of my OMs, a 4X5 or any other camera in my hands and enjoy the process
of photographing and enjoy the images produced. The enjoyment part, for
me, is important. It is also a choice.
It will be interesting to see who might be the first to get the e-5. It
probably won't be me, however it might be. I will have one in the next year
or so and when I get it I'll be happy to have it. Probably won't make
much difference in my imagery and will come at a price about 1/3 of what
upgrading one of the others might cost and I know I won't have to do it again
for 3 or 4 years.
