Is there a dedicated lens for the E3 equal to the fixed focus 50/1.4 for the
OM film cameras? The digital Olympus 50/2 macro for the E3 is a joy to use
and the results are stunning but at an equivalent 100mm focal length for the
film camera, the 50/2 is not a suitable compromise for a "normal" lens.
The 12-60 on the E3 generates images second to none but the 50/2 macro up
front is simpler to use and is much less bulky.
In an attempt to revert back to simplicity ................. a 50mm / f1.4
Summilux on a digitial M3 body is a dream ....... what might be recommended
for a retro minded OM user who does not want to lug around a wunderbrik
..... ?
This line of questioning was generated this evening with my wife when we
were discussing our upcoming visit to the the UK to whoop it up at my
mother-in-law's 100th birthday in two week's time along with my mother's
just celebrated 96th birthday. I suggested that I go kitted out with my OM4T
and some film. My wife opined that I need to see a shrink ! She feels that
chimping with digital is way more advantageous over having to wait a day or
three for the return of processed slides or print film.
Waddya have to say ?
