>From the 9 years I worked in Freshwater Fisheries, one thing I learned for
sure was: heavy metals are very toxic to fish. Heavy metals in piping, tanks,
you name it. Zinc (galvanising) included.
Mind you - <g> koi hardly qualify as fish ! They are classified as a noxious
pest where I live, and are totally banned. mainly because of their habit of
digging up the bottoms of waterways and ruining them for many other
species.
