If the racoons are giving you fits with your pond, it's as much the pond's
problem as the coons. We had one (a pond) with very large fish, and often
found stones in it from the coons seaside activities, but the pond was about
three and a half feet deep at the center and the fish were siley enough to
not stay too near the edge, so, no problems. Large herons sometimes came to
visit as well, but no problem there, either.

The cage is 10 x 12 x 30" and the grid mesh is about 3/4". Doors are spring
loaded so they won't unlatch if trap is turned over. I'm with you, I've seen
how vicious raccoons can be and am prepared for the worst. :-(
