Not F-111. The engine intakes on the F-111 were buried in the wing-roots,
not alongside the fuselage as in Brian's image, nor did the F-111 have a
delta wing, but swing wings with a tailplane (which is absent in these
aircraft) . From the exhaust trails I assume the aircraft are flying
relatively slowly in a bank - the wings should surely be unswept at that
speed if F-111?
There is an F-111 at a similar attitude in this video at 2:15.

With no sign of a tailplane, they can't be A-4 - they look like Mirages to
me.
None of which detracts from the composition in any way - great shot, Brian.

That's what I thought, but it's been near 30 years since I lived at Amberley
(Dad was a RAAFie, and Amberley is where the F111s hang out).
Since he said they were Australian, the only others I knew of were the
Mirages, which were replaced by F18s, but to me they look more like F111s
than either of them.
Regardless, it's a very nicely composed photo, Brian. I was always crap at
airshow photos, though as a RAAFbrat I went to quite a few.
Cheers,
Marc

fighters as F111s. They look more like F4s or A4s to me, from that angle,
at least.
