Memories tend get a bit short when folks want to complain about the
weather. I just checked the temperature records for NYC and yesterday
was indeed a record for July 6 at 103F. The previous record for July 6
was 101F in 1998. But on July 9, 1936 it was 106F. One has to be very
explicit about what constitutes a record. :-)
