There was talk that it had outlived its commercial life, and might be
torn down not so long ago. I guess DTV saved it for the nonce.
What I like about it is the way it is often the only part of SF that can
be seen from our hills on Summer mornings. It adds a point of focus and
helps define what one is seeing. The darker area behind it is also fog
and more usually it just sticks up from a sea of light colored fog. This
time, a cloud shadow added a different look.
I'm particularly fond of the way the tight crops turned out. With the
interesting pastels and textures, they look to me like some sort of
watercolor or a screen printing process. I may have to try printing them.
