The example on the PTLens site suggests that may not be true, the 
correction is quite good. That's also been my experience with PTLens.

My Tamron 17-35 has lots of "moustache distortion" at 17mm. There 
samples don't have straight lines to fuss over, but by moving the mouse 
rapidly over them, you can get quite a clear picture of the "surface 
shape" of the distortion.
