My late brother would have agreed with the first statement. He designed
portable computers, first with Morrow, then Zenith, then freelance,
putting together a whole computer, then selling/licensing the design to
one of the name vendors. He said one of the most important parts of any
design, especially the circuit board, was a visit to the old guy in
(Florida, I think) who worked his voodoo of grounding that kept signals
clean and assured that it would pass the FCC.
