Browsing through Sony specs, some not so good features :
No IS in body, is a big negative for one hand use, while belaying. Aparently
some lenses will have IS, but not the standard 24mm equiv lens.
A proprietary flash system only.
The somewhat difficult to use menu system is not such a big deal for climbing,
but means less atrractive as general purpose pocketable camera.

This actually looks like a better option for me, than the Oly micro product,
for climbing use:
it is a bit smaller and it comes with a 24mm/2.8 equiv lens as standard, with
supplementary lenses for even wider.

24mm is my ideal normal climbing lens.
Initial price is only a little more than the costco special on the Oly pen
($500) with kit zoom offered currently. The oly compact pancake lens raises
the price of oly quite a bit and is only 34mm equiv.
Will wait for review , but this looks like a winner for rock climbing.
