So I just got the OM-2S that I told y'all about last week. Looks
good, great cosmetics, clear viewfinder, put new batteries in and
everything seemed to work well...long story short, I found the
viewfinder illuminator, then after pressing it, remembered vaguely
reading somewhere that you're not supposed to use it, so I promptly
pressed it again. Oh, and prior to doing that, I tried the battery
check as well. Result? DEAD OM-2S.
I think it works, but I'll need to pick up some new SR44s. Two quick
questions: one, in manual mode, shouldn't the aperture and shutter
speed operation be visible? And two, how easy is it typically to see
exposure info in the viewfinder? I only ask because unlike my OM-2n,
there was no exposure info in the viewfinder, in any mode.
I'm afraid this one might be making a trip up to Huntington, NY...
