As are many governments in covering up the atrocities against people both
foreign and domestic. "Kent State" was 40 years ago, now.  I can imagine
that there was more than one government agency that would have liked to have
destroyed a particular reel of 8mm film.

The Israelis are far from alone in this. I'm sure you'd find it difficult to
find any "civilized" nation that doesn't attempt to cover something up.

It's part of our human nature. Ever seen a toddler hide his undershorts
after having an "accident"?
