It wasn't a van in this case, Chris, but a Peugeot hatchback with what (from
a distance) looked like a black upright piano on a roofrack, travelling at a
sedate pace to suit the payload. So it caught my attention - and as you will
see from the map, it is a long straight road, so I had plenty of time to
watch it. I noticed the Google logo when I was close enough, and guessed
what was to come, though it took at least six months for the coverage to be
uploaded.
I think it qualifies as a serendipitous coincidence - moments after I
passed, it turned off the main road, and I would have missed it if I had not
been on the road in that five miunte window.
