One of my favourite writers is Dan Turell. He is probably largely unknown to
99% of the readers of this message, so here is a short bio:

I read his books when I was in high school in the 1970s, and I still read them
today. This morning I made a pilgrimage to Vangede, a working-class suburb of
Copenhagen where he was born and grew up, and which provided the raw material
for one of his greatest books, "Vangede Billeder" (Vangede Pictures). In fact,
part of the credit for this picture must go to my sister who spotted the scene
and alerted me:
