IMO OM 180/2.8 is the best portrait lens, no matter on film or digital. It
has very high resolution yet does not emphasis the low contrast details like
facial imperfection. The images can withstand very big enlargement. I also
like the longer focal length for better background separation.
BTW, with an extension tube it did pretty well for flowers too:
