Argh! [It's okay, Marc. Calm down. It was someone else's camera, not
yours. Refocus. Offer sympathy.]
I'd never seen the point of LCD protectors. I'm fairly casual with my
cameras when using them and not had any LCD-scratching issues, but,
when I got the 5DMk2 I took to storing it in a drawer. Within a couple
of days I noticed that my first effort at protection resulted in the
screw that holds the drawer handle scratching the LCD (fortunately
just outside the viewing area).
So, I think I might buy one of those, Andrew, your advocacy and
experience helpfully narrowing the field.
(Unrelated, but just yesterday I bought a new 27" iMac. I'm looking
forward to getting a good look at my photos on at that screen, though
not so much transfering everything from the old one)
Cheers,
Marc
