According to John, the correction for use in manual depends on focal
length. Even if the meter is adjusted to read correctly for a
2-series on a 1N or OM-2N for a 50mm, by 100mm there is a 1/4 stop
overexposure indication and 2/3 of a stop on a Z 180/2.8.
I believe there are errors on the short end too. OTF metering is
unaffected AFAIK.
Mike
So I know that the meter in an OM-1 and OM-2 will read 2/3 stop over
correct exposure when a 2 series screen is installed (ie will
underexpose by 2/3 a stop); and that the OM-2 measures all exposures
at speeds slower than 1/45 second OTF in auto mode; my question is,
will an OM-2n with a 2 series screen installed give accurate exposures
at all speeds in auto mode, or will it only give accurate exposures at
shutter speeds slower than 1/45 a second? I have a modified 2-4
screen that I would like to install in my OM-2n, but if it results in
underexposure at faster speeds, I will put it in my OM-1n instead and
simply compensate the 2/3 a stop by using the ASA dial.
I happen to like the OM-2n's aperture priority, and don't really want
to have to use it manual mode in bright light.
