Able to use the "none" setting is a big reason for me to VueScan, with
Nikonscan it always uses its own way to interpret the color balance and I'm
not able to control the shadow and highlight (I like to have more room on
both ends of the histogram).
I have lots of faded negatives, with the "none" setting, when I balanced a
frame on a roll, I can use the same set of value for the rest of the images
with rather consistent results (in many cases it just need simple RGB level
adjustment).
