I live in the same Godalming, that you have linked to.
Now, if only I knew where the first electric street light was in Godalming,
I'd go and take a photo of it.
Other Godalming trivia - the radio operator on the Titanic (Jack Philips)
was born and raised here. There is a memorial garden to him in the town,
and the local Wetherspoons pub is named after him.
Oh, and the rock band "Genesis" formed at Charterhouse school - which is in
Godalming.
