Hello fellow Zuikoholics,
I would like to share four recent wet prints I made in the darkroom
for technical / aesthetic discussion. Since this is a "gear" mailing
list, I shall add some technical comments.
"Mothership Bar"
http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/358/6/8/Mothership_Bar_by_philosomatographer.jpg
Clay's OM-2n, 24/2.0 at f/2.0, Ilford FP4+
Even with it's flaws as you leave the centre of the image, I remain
ever impressed what this wide angle lens can do wide open in the dark.
"Klein Brakrivier train station"
http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/357/3/f/Klein_Brakrivier_Stasie_by_philosomatographer.jpg
OM-1n, 50/1.4 (S/N>1.1M) at f/11, Ilford FP4+
I know that all 50mm lenses look good at f/11, but the Zuiko is really
really very good. Though grainy, this is one of the higher-resolution
images I've made from 35mm film, every twig and rock is crisp.
"Waves of Wind" (crap title)
http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/357/4/4/Waves_of_Wind_by_philosomatographer.jpg
OM-1n, 90/2.0 Macro at f/8, Ilford FP4+
Some patterns in the sand when I was talking a walk on the beach with
my brother. DOF is a bit shallow, but on the other hand light was low
for hand-held photography, so this was a compromise.
"Hidden Emotions (at the Frontier)"
http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/343/b/0/Hidden_Emotions_atThe_Frontier_by_philosomatographer.jpg
OM-1n, 90/2.0 Macro at f/11, Ilford FP4+
I printed this a bit "crunchy" with too much contrast, but this is one
of my favourite compositions.
Thank you for watching, and sharing in, my Zuikoholic journey. I need
to print some of the many 250mm F2
images I made over the past two months, will keep you posted.
regards,
Dawid
