I tried out the D-5000 and really gave it a serious test. Honestly, I don't
understand why Nikon is so bent on destroying the UI. The handling of the
camera, to me (YMMV), as one of the poorer cameras I've ever encountered. I
didn't think it possible, but I think it's even worse than the DRebels. I
know this seems like worlds are colliding, but to me the best handling DSLR
on the market, of any brand-model is the new 7D. (must resist)
But the feature-set and specifications are terrific. If the number of
cupholders in a new car are important to you, the D-5000 is your camera. If
you value handling and seating comfort, look elsewhere. I'm with Ken
Rockwell on this one.
